3D printers usually use NTC thermistors to control the temperature,they improve the accuracy and success rate of 3D print by controlling the temperature in printing so as to realize the colour in 3D printing and the effect of modeling 3D model products.
NTC means "negative temperature coefficient".That is ,resistance decreases when the temperature increases.The materials used in NTC thermistors are usually silicon and germanium whose resistance values can vary to many orders of magnitude in their temperature range.
The most often used NTC thermistors in 3D printers are single ended glass sealed thermistors whose feature is a glass sealed with a glass body that provide air-tight seal and voltage insulation to work in high temperature and humid environment.
